By means of this letter, the educators of the different movements of Pedagogía Freinet, pronounce ourselves in repudiation and total opposition to the repressive measures of the government of Sebastián Piñera against the Chilean people. At the same time, we demonstrated in favor of the legitimate protests of the population, in defense of their rights and claims, against the implementation of economic measures against the people.

We believe that the repressive measures of the State, in the face of the popular demonstration, revive the cruelest periods of Chilean history and of the Latin American peoples, which we are not willing to allow them to return.

We say to these fascist actions, which respond to neoliberal interests and which try to re-emerge in our Latin America, putting at risk democracy, freedoms and popular struggles for a more just society:

We will not allow it to happen again! We will not allow them to try to silence us through fear and repression.

The atrocities in Latin America are being repeated and the peoples must be united, vindicating memory, resisting together, assuming new forms of struggle.

Freinet educators have always pronounced ourselves in favor of democracy and freedom of expression. We express our repudiation of neoliberalism, its devastating and totalitarian logic.

In defense of human rights and democracy, we send a fraternal and combative greeting to our colleagues who undertake this struggle.

All our support to the Chilean people! For Latin America, NEVER AGAIN!
